United Arab Emirates

A budget app for the UAE that never asks for bank access

Budgeting in the UAE usually means a mix of currencies, a large expat population, and no Western app that connects to Emirati banks. Cash Compass runs in dirhams, in Arabic or English, with no bank link required.

Apple-native · No bank logins · iCloud sync

Why this fits

Why budgeters in the UAE pick Cash Compass

1

No aggregator reaches UAE banks

Copilot Money, Monarch, Rocket Money and YNAB's automatic import cover North America, not Emirates NBD or ADCB. Budgeting in the UAE with those apps means paying for sync you'll never use. Cash Compass treats manual capture as the product rather than the fallback, so a local salary account, an international card and cash spending all record the same way.

2

AED plus the currencies expats actually juggle

Set AED as your currency and every total, chart and export follows. Because every ISO currency is supported, the common expat pattern — earning in dirhams, sending money home, holding an account in another currency — is a settings change rather than a limitation. Cash Compass also includes Arabic among its 33 translations, set independently of currency.

3

Right-to-left interface, not an afterthought

Running the app in Arabic gives you a properly localised interface rather than a half-translated one, while the numbers stay in AED. For households where one partner prefers Arabic and another English, each device can use a different language against the same currency, and premium iCloud sync keeps a shared picture aligned.

How it works

Three taps from blank screen to budget

  1. 1. Capture

Voice, photo of a receipt, or 3-tap manual entry — every method takes under 5 seconds.

  2. 2. Categorize

Cash Compass picks the category automatically. Override once and it learns your pattern.

  3. 3. Review

Weekly chart shows where money went. Adjust caps before the month is over, not after.

FAQ

Common questions

Does it connect to UAE banks?

No. Cash Compass has no bank connections anywhere, so Emirates NBD, ADCB, FAB and international accounts are all supported equally — you're logging spending, not importing statements. Nothing needs reauthorising.

Can I track in dirhams?

Yes. AED is selectable at setup and changeable in Settings, and all amounts, charts and CSV exports follow it. Every ISO currency is available if you also track spending abroad.

Is the app available in Arabic?

Yes — Arabic is one of 33 translated languages, and interface language is set separately from currency, so an Arabic interface with AED amounts is a standard configuration.

Does it work for money sent home?

You can log remittances as a category like any other expense and see what they total each month. Because currency is a per-user setting rather than per-transaction, most people track in AED and record transfers as a single categorised expense.
