Budgeting in Singapore without connecting a bank

Singapore's banking is excellent and almost entirely invisible to Western budgeting apps. Cash Compass handles SGD natively and never asks to connect to DBS, OCBC or UOB.

Apple-native · No bank logins · iCloud sync

Why this fits

Why budgeters in Singapore pick Cash Compass

1

Western apps stop at the border

Copilot Money, Monarch, Rocket Money and YNAB's automatic import are built around North American institutions and don't reach Singapore banks. Anyone budgeting in Singapore with those tools is doing manual entry inside an app that charges for sync it can't provide. Cash Compass removes that mismatch — the manual path is the designed path, so DBS, OCBC, UOB and a PayNow-heavy month all track identically.

2

SGD as standard, plus regional currencies

Select SGD at setup and every figure, chart and export follows. Because Cash Compass reads every ISO currency, the frequent-travel pattern common in Singapore is easy to handle: switch to MYR, THB or JPY for a trip and your existing records stay untouched. Language is a separate setting, with Chinese among the 33 translations.

3

Fits PayNow and hawker-centre spending

Daily spending in Singapore is a stream of small, fast transactions — a hawker lunch, a PayNow split, an EZ-Link top-up — and that granularity is where budgets quietly fail. A statement feed would return vague merchant codes days later even if one existed. Logging at the counter, by voice, keeps both the amount and the category correct while you still remember the context.

How it works

Three taps from blank screen to budget

  1. 1. Capture

Voice, photo of a receipt, or 3-tap manual entry — every method takes under 5 seconds.

  2. 2. Categorize

Cash Compass picks the category automatically. Override once and it learns your pattern.

  3. 3. Review

Weekly chart shows where money went. Adjust caps before the month is over, not after.

FAQ

Common questions

Does it link to DBS, OCBC or UOB?

No — there are no bank connections at all. That makes every Singapore bank equally supported and means nothing breaks when a bank changes its systems. You capture spending by voice, receipt photo or manual entry.

Can I track in Singapore dollars?

Yes. SGD is selectable during onboarding and in Settings later, and charts, totals and CSV exports all use it. All ISO currencies are available for travel or overseas income.

Is it useful if I travel often for work?

That's a good fit. Currency can be changed at any time without disturbing earlier entries, manual logging works with no connection, and on premium iCloud sync keeps an iPhone and iPad aligned once you're back online.

How private is it?

There are no bank credentials involved, transactions stay on your device, and premium sync runs through your own iCloud account rather than servers we operate — so there's no central store of your financial data to breach.

Apple-only.

Built native for iPhone, iPad, and Mac with iCloud sync. Works offline.

Privacy-first.

No bank logins, no Plaid, no data sales. All data lives in your iCloud.

Free tier, real.

Manual entry, charts, category tracking — all free, forever. Premium is optional.
