Budgeting in Ireland without linking a bank account

Irish users regularly find that a budgeting app's bank sync covers Britain and stops. Cash Compass avoids the whole category of problem — euro from the start, and nothing to connect.

Apple-native · No bank logins · iCloud sync

Why this fits

Why Irish budgeters pick Cash Compass

1

Coverage gaps are the norm in Ireland

US-first apps like Copilot Money, Monarch and Rocket Money don't serve Irish accounts, and aggregator coverage that technically reaches Ireland tends to be thin and prone to dropping. With Revolut so widely used alongside AIB and Bank of Ireland, most people's money is split across institutions anyway. Cash Compass tracks the spending rather than the accounts, so where the money sits doesn't matter.

2

Euro, and English or Irish interface

Set EUR at onboarding and every screen, chart and export uses it. Cash Compass ships translations for 33 languages including Irish, and interface language is independent of currency — so you can run the app in Gaeilge with euro amounts if you prefer. Nothing about the app assumes a US context.

3

Built for Revolut-and-card spending

A typical Irish week involves card taps, a few Revolut splits with friends and the odd cash purchase — the small, frequent transactions that make a month disappear. Those are also exactly what automated feeds describe poorly. Logging them as they happen keeps the category accurate and turns a vague sense of overspending into a specific figure you can act on.

How it works

Three taps from blank screen to budget

  1. 1. Capture

Voice, photo of a receipt, or 3-tap manual entry — every method takes under 5 seconds.

  2. 2. Categorize

Cash Compass picks the category automatically. Override once and it learns your pattern.

  3. 3. Review

Weekly chart shows where money went. Adjust caps before the month is over, not after.

FAQ

Common questions

Does it work with AIB, Bank of Ireland or Revolut?

Not by connection — Cash Compass never links to any bank. That means all three are equally well supported, because you're recording spending rather than importing statements. Nothing needs reauthorising and no account is excluded for being too small.

Is the app in euro?

Yes, EUR is selectable at setup and changeable later, and every total, chart and CSV export follows it. All ISO currencies are supported if you spend time outside the eurozone.

What's free and what's paid?

Manual logging is free forever with no ads. Premium unlocks unlimited voice entry and receipt scanning, full charts, CSV export and iCloud sync, priced in euro by the App Store with a 14-day free trial on the annual plan.

Is it available in Irish?

Yes — Irish is among the 33 translated languages, and you can pair it with euro amounts since language and currency are set separately.
